How many students will there be at one time with me?

You might be the only one, but there will not be more than 2 students per session. This is important because Mike spends a lot of time helping each individual.

How long is the training?

Training is 5 straight days, Monday through Friday. You will progress through planned steps designed to develop maximum skill as quickly as possible.

The accelerated 2 day class is Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm each day.
All skills of the 5 day course are covered but at an accelerated pace and we take no breaks.

Can I split my training days up?

We realize some people cannot attend on 5 consecutive days.
Just give us a call and we will work that out with you.

The weekend class days cannot be split up.

Is the training focused, with a dedicated instructor?

Absolutely. Any normal customer work to be done that will not benefit the student at that time will be re-scheduled for “after training hours” or another day.

From the time you arrive at Smooth A Dent, Michael Parks is working for you. You are paying for both his knowledge and time.

What time do we start?

We start at 9 AM. Due to the heavy focus and concentration needed, you will be ready to stop at about 3-4 PM for the first day or two (pushing beyond that is not productive). As the week progresses staying later until 5 PM is not unusual, and you will have plenty to do.

The Saturday Sunday class is from 8am - 4pm with only minimal breaks to give your eyes and muscles the rest they might need.

Will I be working on real cars?

Yes! You will work on every panel of a car as the week progresses except the roof.
The program is designed to begin developing your skills on a hood.
We then move to dents on a real vehicle for you to practice those skills and address things like access, dent location, tool selection, etc.

This is true for either the 5 day or Weekend classes.

Will you help me get started?

Yes, you will be given ideas on where and how to get and keep customers, how to keep costs low and stay profitable. After your training you will also be given ongoing support as needed for 1 full year at no additional charge.

Will I be certified?

You will receive a certificate of successful course completion. There is no industry recognized requirement that carries any authority.

Do you offer financing?

You can apply to pay in monthly payments through Square Installments, a payment option offered through Square Capital.

Check your invoice for more details, including how to contact Square Capital for more information.

If you have any questions about Square Installments please email Square Capital at

Is income in this business guaranteed?

The income opportunities in PDR can be substantial however no one can guarantee what an individual’s level of income will be. As with most things, your success will depend a lot on you and your own drive and perseverance.

We’ll help get you started and offer 1 full year of support after training at no additional charge.

I wear glasses. Is that ok?

Corrected vision is fine. You need to be able to see fine detail to at least about 4 feet.

Can I do this if I have back or neck problems?

You should be in generally good physical condition. You will have difficulty doing Paintless Dent Repair especially if you have physical issues that prevent you from griping tightly with your hands, bending low, twisting, or moving your head or shoulders at different angles and then holding in those positions.

Are tools included with the training?

To keep things simpler for us and keep your cost down we do not include tools but will offer recommendations.

Will I need my own tools?

We show you how to use your own tools not ones you have to buy from us.
It is best if you bring your own tools and accessories to training.
Some students borrow our tools to help them determine what they would like to buy  at a later time.
Mike will make a recommendation if you want.

Do you offer tools for purchase?

We have seen too many students taken advantage of at other courses. Students end up spending too much money and buying way more than they will need or even know how to use as a beginner.

We really do want you to be successful, both financially and as a PDR technician. So you will not feel any pressure to buy tools or accessories from us.

If you would like, Mike will make a recommendation. Start small see and use some of our tools if needed then add to your set later once you know what you might want.

Can you help me buy my tools?

Yes! Mike can make a recommendation for you. Also we do not want to see you buy too much until you know what you might need.
For that reason we recommend starting small, bring what you have.
See and use some of our tools then add to your own set later.

Do you include airfare or hotel with your class?

In order to keep cost low, those prices are not added into our training.
